Researchers from custody x change, a company that sells software to help divorced parents separate custody and create parent plans recently carried out a study to determine which fathers receive most of the time with their children.
“Custody plans are detailed and complex, which makes it difficult to compare,” said Ben Coltrin, co -founder and president of Sorgery X Change. “However, it is easy to see that the differences between state to state as soon as they have a percentage for every state. We carried out this study in order to easily emphasize these differences.”
For the assessment, the analysts examined the legal standards in every state and respondents in the United States to find out what schedules they often see. They only identified cases in which both parents wanted custody and there were no mitigating circumstances such as criminal convictions or remote separation in the long -haul.

After analyzing the results, they found that Georgia fell 46 on the list of the pack. Fathers received only 23.5 percent of their children. Illinois followed 47th, Mississippi, 48th, Oklahoma in 49th and Tennessee, No. 50.
Twenty states, including Florida, Missouri and Massachusetts, tied up to 1st place, with fathers achieving 50 percent.
Although the majority of the American fathers were granted less than 50 percent of custody, the researchers found that 25 state legislation claimed laws to promote common parenting after divorce or default.
“Our study shows that 40 percent of the states give children the same time with every parent,” said Coltrin. “We hope that this study will influence the dialogue that is considering states to change their custody laws. States can increase the time for fathers because they compare themselves to their neighboring countries.”
