West Melbourne police said three-year-old Jameson Nance was found dead in a residential complex on June 11th. Dispatchers reported that a child was not breathing at an address that matches the Grand Oaks and Lake Apartments on Lago Circle.
Before law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, Manns left the house and had evaded the authorities by Monday, according to West Melbourne deputy chief Richard Cordeau.
West Melbourne police said they had notified Georgia authorities that Manns could live with his family in Tifton, Georgia. US marshals arrested him with the help of the Tift County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities obtained a new arrest warrant on Monday lifting Mann’s charges of first degree murder and serious child abuse.
Manns is extradited to Brevard County.
How the child died or how the suspect was related to the boy, the police have not yet revealed. According to the arrest report, Manns lived in the apartment complex on Lago Circle where Nance was found dead.
