Governor Brian Kemp says President Joe Biden and his leftist allies are “arming” the US Department of Justice to oppose the state’s new electoral law.

The Justice Department filed a lawsuit against the state of Georgia on Friday.

The federal agency’s lawsuit alleges that Georgia’s Senate GOP Proposal 202 and its strict voter identification requirements violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which bans electoral laws that discriminate on the basis of race.

WABE legal analyst Page Pate spoke to Jim Burress, host of “All Things Considered,” about the agency’s allegations and the precedent the lawsuit could set for other states that have been adopting restrictive electoral laws since the 2020 elections.
