Former President donald trump hired an attorney — best known for representing rappers — to represent him in the 2020 Georgia election interference criminal investigation.
Trump quit last week Drew foundlingan Atlanta-based attorney known online as #BillionDollarLawyer, who represents a star-studded roster of clients, including artists Cardi BMigos, Waka Flocka flameand Gucci mane.
The investigation is looking into possible disruption to the 2020 election. Though Trump has not been named as a target of the Georgia probe, Fulton County prosecutors have issued subpoenas to members of the former president’s inner circle — Sen. Lindsey Graham (RS.C.) and former Trump attorneys John Ostman and Rudy Giuliani belong to. In addition, the list of 16 alternative electors in Georgia could be indicted.
In addition to his background in criminal defense, Findling’s reputation is deeply rooted in the rap community. “He’s the biggest attorney in the game, man,” he said offsetmember of the group Migos and husband of Cardi B. As Findling told the New York Times, he remembered rappers 2 Chainz points to him and says to his wife, “See that guy over there? Honey, we never want to be in his office.”
In another odd twist on this attitude, Findling has been an outspoken critic of Trump. 2017 after Trump was fired Preet Bharara From his position as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Findling took to Twitter: “For POTUS to fire SDNY-US Attorney Preet Bharara is a sign of FEAR that he will dislike the stench hanging over this POTUS aggressively investigate.”
2018 after the former president was criticized Lebron JamesFindling tweeted: “Racist architect of fraudulent Trump University slams Lebron, founder of free school for children…. POTUS pathetic again!”

Aside from the scathing criticism, Findling will now represent Trump, and he explained his decision in a recent interview with The New York Times: “I don’t think we select our client or clients based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender , political beliefs, or the material issues associated with the crime… We have our personal lives and we have our personal politics, and I make no apologies for my personal politics.”
“I may differ politically from many of my clients, but that doesn’t change my obligation to defend myself against wrongful investigations,” Findling’s law firm said in a statement Thursday. “In this case, the focus on President Trump in Fulton County, Georgia is clearly an erroneous and politically motivated pursuit, and I, along with my office and my co-counsel, are fully committed to defending this injustice.”
