State party chairman David Shafer said in a statement Wednesday evening that they intended to sue in a dozen counties.

The lawsuit alleges that a Republican observer watched a poll worker in Chatham County take 53 unprocessed postal ballots from a back room and mixed them into processed postal ballot papers waiting to be tabulated.

In Georgia, ballot papers must be received by 7:00 p.m. on election day in order to count. Chatham County contains Savannah and is Democratic leaning.

Trump tweeted Wednesday that he “has claimed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which does not allow legal observers), Georgia and North Carolina, each of which has a BIG Trump lead, for electoral purposes.”

“We will not allow Democratic electoral officials to steal President Trump’s election with late-night, illegal ballot papers,” the statement said. “We will not allow Democratic election officials to steal President Trump’s election with late-night, illegal ballot papers.”

Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister’s office said they were determined to do everything right.

“Officials in numerous counties continue to count ballots with strict security protocols to protect the integrity of our elections,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “We recognize that with a tight presidential election and the possibility of runoffs in some elections, the eyes of the state and the nation will be on Georgia at this point,” Raffensperger said.

Raffensperger noted numerous security measures to secure the vote and increase public confidence in the electoral process. He said that dropboxes were locked at 7 p.m. and that they were monitored at all times.

Raffensperger also said a pre-certification audit will provide additional assurance that the votes were accurately counted.
