The US national security strategy promises support for Georgia’s “European aspirations”.

The 2022 United States National Security Strategy outlines that the country will support Georgia and Moldova’s “European aspirations” and their commitment to “major institutional reforms.”

The document, released on Wednesday, notes that consistent with US support for Ukraine, “we will also work to strengthen the stability and resilience of other democracies.”

We will support the European aspirations of Georgia and Moldova and their commitment to important institutional reforms. We will support partners in strengthening democratic institutions, the rule of law and economic development in the Western Balkans,” the strategy reads.

The document also notes that the US will “support diplomatic efforts” to resolve the conflict in the South Caucasus over tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
