The Georgian Parliament passed the Georgian Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia

On January 11, 2021, the Georgia Law Amending the Georgia Criminal Code was posted on the Legislative Herald of Georgia website.
In order to review life imprisonment and replace the unearned portion of the sentence with a lighter sentence, the amended law creates a new requirement for successful completion of the training program for the release of a person sentenced by the Minister of Justice for Life Imprisonment.
The law comes into force on February 10, 2021.
