MARTINEZ, Ga. (WVLT) – A 14-year-old Georgia student was found on campus with a pocket knife and noose before handing it over to his father, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at Lakeside Middle School on Monday, March 22nd, according to the CCSO.
An officer said he had responded to a report from a “recalcitrant youth” and spoke to the assistant principal and the 14-year-old boy.
The deputy headmaster said several teenagers said the boy had a pocket knife in his possession, according to the report.
In the further search for the 14-year-old, the deputy headmaster stated that he had found a small pocket knife, black rubber gloves and a black rope as a noose.
When asked about these items, the 14-year-old stated that he “didn’t know why he had the items with him,” the report said.
The school administrator said several teenagers had heard the student condition: “I want to do something I probably shouldn’t,” the report said.
The 14-year-old said he had no intention of harming anyone physically, according to the report.
The boy was reportedly handed over to his father.
In a statement, Superintendent Dr. Sandra Carraway: “The school administration followed the expectations of the school district and law enforcement was involved.”
The boy’s family had no comment.
