Georgia prosecutors investigating Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results are in possession of text messages and other communications linking members of the former president’s legal team — including Rudy Giuliani — directly to a violation of the Jan. 7 election system connect 2021. according to a Sunday report.

The messages could play a central role in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ grand jury presentation this week in connection with her voter fraud case against the 77-year-old current GOP presidential nominee, who has already faced three criminal cases this year .

“I just landed back in DC when the mayor started putting big things together! We were immediately granted access – by written invitation! – to the systems of Coffee County. Yay!” reads a Jan. 1, 2021 text message in a group chat by colleagues at Sullivan Strickler, the law firm hired by Trump’s team to investigate electoral systems in the heavily Republican county, CNN reported.

Trump’s attorney at the time, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, was referred to as “the mayor” in other messages from the same group, the media said.

Texts and other documents suggest Trump’s team was already fighting for access to voting systems in the rural, mostly Republican county in mid-December, the report said.

The invitation letter was allegedly written by Misty Hampton, a former Coffee County elections official who first sparked interest from Trump’s cronies in the days after the election when she falsely claimed that Dominion voting machines “quite easily” upvoted a candidate someone else could turn the other.

Desperate to delay confirmation of Joe Biden’s victory, a Trump campaign official emailed Hampton and asked that he get “as much information as possible” about the electoral situation in the county, which Trump won 70% of the time, he said CNN.

In early December, Hampton delayed confirming Biden’s win at the Peach State by refusing to report the results in a timely manner.

A video Hampton made to allegedly alert the public to problems with the county’s voting machines was also used by Giuliani’s and Trump’s other attorneys to convince other state lawmakers that the 2020 election results were caused by voter fraud were affected.

According to the article, Coffee County was dropped by name in a draft executive order confiscating voting equipment presented to Trump at a Dec. 18, 2020 Oval Office meeting.

At the time, Giuliani also allegedly hinted at plans to gain “voluntary access” to voting machines in Georgia, as he and others testified before the House Committee on Jan. 6.

A few days after the crucial Oval Office meeting, CNN explained, Hampton sent the Trump team the written invitation to enter the Coffee County polling station.

Katherine Freiss, another attorney working with Giuliani, Sidney Powell and other Trump cronies, reportedly distributed the invite to a group of Trump allies on Jan. 1, 2021 — just days before the breach.

On the same day, Freiss reportedly also sent the invitation to disgraced former NYPD Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, who had teamed up with his former boss Giuliani to back up her allegations of voter fraud.

Hampton and Elections Superintendent Cathy Latham then allegedly helped Trump’s team access Coffee County’s voting system, according to messages verified by the outlet.

Latham in particular has come under fire for surveillance footage allegedly showing her allowing unauthorized visitors access to the voting systems.

The text messages and other communications are expected to play a role in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation into allegations of election interference, which will be heard before a grand jury this week.

While the investigation initially focused on Trump’s January 2021 call to Georgia Foreign Minister Brad Raffensperger and a conspiracy to set up fake voters, the violation of Coffee County and those associated with it have emerged as another central part of the effort, CNN said.

The bombing case could hit the embattled former president on racketeering and other charges in his fourth criminal trial this year.

Trump was charged last month with conspiracy and obstruction related to his alleged role in the US Capitol riots a day before violating the Coffee County electoral system.

“As President, I stand against voter fraud – my duty and my right!” Trump commented on Truth Social on Saturday.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat previously confirmed that if charged, the real estate mogul would have to follow “normal practices” — including a mug shot.

Willis’ office was not immediately available for comment.
