MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A 16-year-old kidnapped in Georgia was found safe in Montgomery on Tuesday morning and his father was taken into custody, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Police located the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store at 3619 Eastern Boulevard and recovered the teenager without incident, ALEA confirmed.
Around 11:00 a.m. there was a heavy police presence in front of the store
Ronald Rodas, 41, of Louisiana was taken into custody.
According to the Clayton County, Georgia Police Department, Rodas abducted his son from a bus stop Tuesday morning. Law enforcement believed Rodas was going to Louisiana.
Clayton County is south of Atlanta.
