Senator Ossoff hosts VFW Georgia and reaffirms his commitment to Georgia’s veterans

Washington, D.C. – US Senator Jon Ossoff received representatives from the Georgia Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) this week to address his continued support for Georgia veterans and their families.

Sen. Ossoff heard directly from VFW officials about important issues facing veterans in Georgia, including the need to improve suicide prevention efforts to pass legislation to improve benefits for soldiers injured in combat.

Senator Ossoff updated the group on his bipartisan work in the Senate in support of Georgian veterans. Last year, Senator Ossoff passed bipartisan legislation to give Georgia veterans easier access to their services and make mental health care more affordable, and successfully bolstered programs to help rural veterans get the medical care they need require.

Senator Ossoff also updated leaders on his continued work to pass the all-partisan Major Richard Star Act, bipartisan legislation he is campaigning for to ensure combat-disabled veterans receive all benefits.
