The two former Georgia election officials who won a $148 million libel victory against Rudy Giuliani are now demanding a court order to confiscate his assets.
They are demanding that he hand over cash, jewelry and his expensive Upper East Side apartment, and are pushing to be appointed receiver for his Palm Beach condo, Politico reported.
They also filed a lawsuit against him in federal court, accusing him of trying to evade his creditors by falsely listing his Florida property as his primary residence in order to secure the protection of homestead status under state law.
The actions of election officials in Georgia Ruby Freeman And Shaye Moss follow a judge's dismissal of Giuliani's bankruptcy case, clearing the way to claim his assets. Last year, Freeman and Moss won a victory in a defamation case against the former New York mayor over his false claims that they were involved in the 2020 election fraud.

If Freeman and Moss succeed in seizing Giuliani's assets and putting him into receivership, it would be another major blow to him, Politico added. In addition to the defamation loss, Giuliani has suffered other setbacks, including an indictment in the Arizona electoral college fraud case in April and being fired from the New York bar in July.
In a court filing, Freeman and Moss's lawyers argued that seizing assets and initiating bankruptcy proceedings were crucial because “Mr. Giuliani has repeatedly demonstrated that he will never voluntarily comply with court orders, let alone voluntarily settle plaintiffs' judgments,” the report continued.
A spokesman for Giuliani, Ted Goodman, complained that “the justice system has been used as a weapon against Mayor Giuliani and many others for purely partisan reasons.”
“The appeal of the objectively unreasonable $148 million verdict has not even been heard, and yet the opposing side continues to take steps to harass and intimidate Mayor Rudy Giuliani,” Goodman said, according to Politico.
