RNC FIGHTS FOR PARITY OF VOTING MACHINES IN GEORGIA | News

WASHINGTON – The RNC, the Georgia Republican Party and the Fulton County Republican Party sued the Fulton County Department of Registration & Elections office for failing to hire enough Republican poll workers.

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated: “Fulton County has failed to follow the law and put a partisan thumb on the scale by barring fully qualified Republican poll workers from participating in the 2024 general election. This is our country's most important election, and Fulton County must follow the law, plain and simple. We are suing to promote the trust, fairness and integrity in our elections that Georgians deserve.”

Background:

  • Georgia law requires election officials to hire poll workers from lists submitted by political parties. This law helps ensure transparency in the conduct of elections.
  • Early voting is imminent for Georgia. It is completely unacceptable to violate state laws and sow public distrust so close to the presidential election.
  • We filed this lawsuit to protect the Republican Party's right to partisan balance in the hiring of poll workers in Fulton County.
  • The RNC is committed to confronting election interference by the left and fighting for fair elections.
