Prisoner Receives Reinstatement of Lawsuits Against Georgia Prison Officials

Lyncoln Danglar, a citizen of Grenada, has another opportunity to argue that Georgia prison officials violated his constitutional rights by extending his detention in a state prison instead of transferring him to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, a ruling ruled court of appeal.

ICE placed an immigration detainee on Danglar and issued an arrest warrant for him after an agent met with the plaintiff. But ICE failed to take Danglar into custody at the appointed time. Danglar remained in solitary confinement in Georgia prison for almost three more months before ICE took over custody.
