The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has reprimanded Georgia-based construction contractor NOR-D LLC for failing to provide fall protection to workers on a 22-foot-high roof, the agency said Tuesday.
OSHA has proposed $61,065 in penalties after an employee suffered fatal injuries when he stepped on a skylight and fell. The company failed to report the death from a workplace accident within eight hours.
The company also failed to install covers or railings on the roof windows and failed to train forklift drivers in how to operate industrial trucks, the statement said.
