Officer shot lifeless, two others injured within the Georgia pursuit

An officer was shot in the head and two others injured in a police chase early Monday morning, according to WGCL-TV, a subsidiary of CBS Atlanta. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations tweeted it was called:

NewsTalk 1330 WLLB said the Georgia State Patrol started a chase in Bremen around 4 a.m. that led to Carrollton. Shots were fired and an officer was hit in the head, the station says. He was flown to a hospital near Atlanta for life, where his condition was unknown. WLLB said he was reportedly “able to speak”.

The chase continued to Villa Rica, where at least two other police officers were injured. It wasn’t clear how. Their terms were unknown.

There was no word about one or more suspects.
