Mr Thomas Russell Conger, aged 43, of Oconee, passed away at his home on Saturday 8th July 2023 after a brave battle with cancer. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the burial at Bay Springs Cemetery in Oconee. Reverend Gary Yonce and Reverend Emory Anderson will officiate. The pallbearers will be Jordan Davis, Dalton Davis, Jesse Mullis, Christopher Mullis, Aaron Mullis, Jacob Mullis and Dalton Davis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Russell was born on March 2, 1980 in Augusta, Georgia. He has lived in Washington County all his life and graduated from Washington County High School. He was a hard worker who had a brilliant mind, a generous spirit and a gentle heart. Russell loved working with and collecting tools and he also loved collecting rocks. He had a great sense of humor and charismatic charm. Russell was a friend to all who knew him.
Russell is survived by his wife, Sarah Louise Adams Conger; son Alan Russell Conger from Oconee; Parents, Alan and Robin Conger from Oconee; sisters, Laura Reynolds and her husband Thomas of Harlem and Mandy Heckathorn and her husband Daniel of Morriston, FL; niece, Ella Grace Reynolds; nephews, Elliot and Emmett Reynolds; Uncle Michael, Larry and David Cooper; mother-in-law Teresa Barlow and her husband Kenny; and sister-in-law Nikki Evans.
