Obituary: Georgia Kostulias, 97, of Stamford

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Heaven won an angel by welcoming our beloved Aunt Georgia Kostulias, 97 years young. Georgia was born on October 15, 1923 in Stamford, CT, to Charles and Bessie Kostulias. She was one of nine children.

Georgia lived on Culloden Road for most of her life. She worked for many years at the Phillips Company in Glenbrook. A longtime Stamford Native, she enjoyed hanging out with friends, taking her nieces and nephews on trips to Curley’s Diner to see her friends or even New York City.

She was the “funny” aunt who spent time playing games or music for her and was known for having stuffed animals, change, knickknacks, and candy in her pocket. Later in life, she would do the same with her great nieces and nephews. She was famous for singing songs, jokes, and rhymes that we all enjoyed immensely.

She was died by her brothers George and William Kostulias and her sisters Christine Joyce, Liberty Kostulias, Anna Ingram, Ethel Apostolakos, Harriet Hett and Marion Kostulias. She was also died by her nephews Charles B. Hett and John Apostolakos.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great-nephews. We would like to especially thank everyone at the Long Ridge Post-Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Because of Georgia’s love for cats, please send donations instead of flowers to: Stamford Animal Control 201 Magee Ave., Stamford, CT 06902, or Long Ridge Post-Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center, 710 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06902.

All services will be private. However, her family is inviting relatives and friends to attend a virtual prayer service on Saturday, January 30th at 12:30 p.m. To participate, please select Georgia’s obituary webcast video at www.bosakfuneralhome.com.
