Nellie Farmer Pittman, 91 years old, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday morning, October 16, 2021, in her residence at the Blue Ridge Assisted Living Center.
Nellie was born on February 25, 1930 in Morganton to the late Floyd and Ora Colbert Farmer. She was an active member of the Lebanon Baptist Church. She liked to cook, made tinned food, sewed and was very kind to social interaction. Her husband, WT Pittman, preceded her in death; Brothers Ernest Farmer and JL Farmer; Sisters Gertha Taylor, Gertie Sanders, and Loraine Farmer; and niece Gail Nichols.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Joan and Gene Hitchcock; Son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alice Pittman; Grandson, Stan Hitchcock, Daniel (Sarah) Gray, and Anna Gray; Great-grandchildren, Aidan Gonzalez, Andrew Gray, Dawson Cleland, Kalli Cleland, Tori Hitchcock, and Dylan Wiker; and nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family received friends at the Henry- Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge.
A celebration of life was held at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Epworth on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1 p.m.
The funeral in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens followed.
