WASHINGTON (NewsNation) – A conservative Georgia non-profit law firm has filed a lawsuit against the National Archives for trying to obtain thousands of emails and other records in which then-Vice President Joe Biden allegedly used false names.
The Southeastern Legal Foundation believes the emails and records could uncover a link to Hunter Biden’s overseas operations.
As Republicans on the House Oversight Committee aggressively pursue an investigation into Biden’s decision-making and his family’s overseas operations, the Southeastern Legal Foundation on Wednesday asked the National Archives to turn over more than 5,000 emails and records the company said the company knew existed Agency reported it filed a Freedom of Information Act request last year.
Lawsuit: National Archives have emails containing Biden pseudonyms
According to the foundation, the National Archives found over 5,100 emails, 25 email files, and 200 pages of potentially responsive records linked to three different email accounts containing false names allegedly used by then-Vice President Biden.
Names in question include “Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, and JRB Ware.”
The law firm believes the recordings may be related to Hunter’s business dealings.
In a statement, the foundation wrote, “The only way to protect the integrity of the government is for the NARA Bidens to release nearly 5,400 emails to the SLF, and therefore to the public.” The American public deserves to know what’s inside them.”

The lawsuit comes at a time when House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., recently asked the national archives to release unredacted communications and documents related to Ukraine and energy company Burisma that Biden and his son sent and had received.
“Once these investigations are complete, we will certainly have criminal leads,” Comer said.
In a recent interview, Comer said the committee is regularly uncovering new information, more pseudonyms, more communications between Biden and his family, more shell companies, and more referrals.
“It’s getting worse every day,” Comer said.
Biden has continued to defend his son, and on Tuesday a White House spokesman wrote on social media: “Just when you think the GOP shenanigans in the House of Representatives can’t get any dumber they start talking about email ‘ Pseudonyms’ upset.” Newsflash: Government leaders have been using pseudonyms to prevent spam and hacking for decades.”
The president’s team insisted that Biden had done nothing wrong.
“They keep uncovering documents and witnesses that show the President was not involved, never discussed these deals and did nothing wrong. “There is no evidence to the contrary,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.
A White House spokesman also included a picture of a 2018 Time magazine article about former President George HW Bush using a fake name years ago when corresponding with a boy in the Philippines .
NewsNation contacted the National Archives for comment, but has not yet received a response.
