Man arrested in Fayetteville murder case extradited from Georgia to face court date

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Arkansas (KNWA/KFTA) — A Fayetteville man arrested in Georgia last month for the murder of a Fayetteville woman has been extradited to Arkansas and has been given a court date.

Adrian Rodriguez, 31, has been arrested on first-degree murder in connection with the death of Brenda Madriles, 32.

According to police, Madriles family members said they had not been seen or heard from since July 27.

According to a Fayetteville Police Department Facebook post, officers went to a Rodriguez home on July 29 for a social check. While executing a search warrant, officers found Madriles dead.

According to police, the two were acquaintances.

The post said an investigation by Fayetteville detectives, Springdale Police and Georgia law enforcement led to Bibb County, Georgia, where Rodriguez was found and arrested.

According to police, Madriles’ body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death. Rodriguez is awaiting extradition to Arkansas.

Rodriguez was arrested July 30 in Bibb County, Georgia. On August 8, he was extradited and taken to the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Rodriguez has court dates scheduled for August 21 in Washington County. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
