Americans across the country go to the ballot box to cast their ballots, with inflation, crime, education and border security being the top concerns.
Some voters are turning to the GOP for the first time because of the past two years of Democratic leadership.
“I’ve always voted Democrat, and once [Biden] Taking office, I’ve opened my eyes,” a lifelong Democrat told Fox & Friends corporate reporter Lawrence Jones, citing crime, the border, education and the exit from Afghanistan.
“Enough is enough. I went and voted this morning, and I voted all Republicans.”
MIDDLE ELECTIONS 2022: LIVE UPDATES
On Tuesday on Fox & Friends, Jones spoke to voters in Gainesville, Georgia, where a key Senate race between incumbent Raphael Warnock and GOP nominee Herschel Walker could decide which party holds power in Congress.
Jones spoke to voters who emphasized the economy, education, crime and the border as their main motivators for Tuesday’s vote.
“As a small business owner, I see prices go up and up and up and we just can’t keep it up,” said one woman, explaining why she voted Republican. “We can no longer sustain it as a small company.”

Another woman said a key issue for her was the border crisis and the fentanyl that was killing thousands of Americans.
“I think it’s a national security crisis. I really do. Not just the fentanyl, just the invasion, the bodies coming over the border. And it is time to close them.”
“I am married to a legal immigrant,” shared another woman. “And we were personally affected by the fact that the border was open. His green card was stolen and he was arrested for it. So don’t put me on that soapbox, okay? … I will help build a wall myself.”
Georgia voters also said education and patriotism were issues that drove them to vote.
“I want the country to give more back to patriotism,” said one man. “In the schools, the children don’t even have to stand when the pawn is played. They have to learn what it’s about and love this country again.”
“We have to put our country back the way it was,” said one woman. “Our children know how it used to be, that they can be like that again.”
Several women have had particular trouble with being called “roaches” by liberal The View host Sunny Hostin, who said white, suburban women voting for the GOP are like “roaches voting for Raid.” .
“I’m going to have my seventh grandchild soon and I want our country to be great again. … And I don’t care if they call me a cockroach!” a woman said to Jones.
In a state with a similarly heated Senate race, voters in Pennsylvania voiced similar concerns about the economy, crime, the border and education.
“Who can choose just one [issue]?” one woman told Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth. The country is broken and hopefully today will be the first day they try to fix it.”
MSNBC, NEW YORK TIMES, “THE VIEW” PANIC THAT VOTER CARES MORE ABOUT ECONOMY THAN “THREATS TO DEMOCRACY.”
“I definitely think the issues that have been motivated are the ones that affect us every day,” said another woman. “And that’s inflation. It’s the economy. It’s crime.”
“We see crime right in our backyards,” a third woman told Hegseth. “Crime is spilling in from Philadelphia, from their liberal policies, and they’re spilling into our school districts and they’re influencing our day-to-day decisions.”
Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy spoke to Wisconsin voters, who expressed the same concerns as voters in Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Inflation and the impact of economic instability on Social Security and retirement were a major concern.
“I’ll be 70 next month, but then my wife will have my back,” said one man. “We’re both Social Security recipients and we’re still working to at least live comfortably. But the prices are just killing us.
Education was also a hot topic, especially for one mom who told Campos-Duffy why she’s so concerned about America’s children. She expressed concern about drugs, including fentanyl, and what is being taught in schools.

Patriotism and the restoration of pride in America was another major issue for Wisconsin voters.
“I’m a war veteran and my main issue is the constitution, the rule of law. This is what rules our country,” shared one man. “And we’re about to lose it if we don’t win. We have to take it back. We have to stick to one set of rules for everyone.”
Further south, Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Will Cain discussed the mid-term troubles with constituents in Satellite Beach, Fla.
The economy, and particularly the impact on 401(k) accounts and long-term investments, has voters worried.
“If you look at the growth I’ve had under Trump and now the losses under Biden, not even two years, I think it was almost 34% down,” one man said. “Now I have to think about postponing retirement longer and longer.
Another mother shared with Cain her concern for children and America’s schools.
“What’s happening in our schools right now is really scary,” she said. “I had a college kid who was taught to think very differently than we ever thought.”
With Election Day underway and the polls open to Americans, voters across the country are weighing the issues and casting their ballot.
