Law professor discusses Georgia law that could remove district attorneys from office – WABE

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently requested that the election trial of former President Donald Trump and his 18 allies be scheduled as early as October 2023.

But before the case even reaches the courtroom, a new Republican-backed law could not only remove Willis from the case but also from her job.

On Tuesday’s edition of Closer Look, Clark Cunningham, professor of law and the W. Lee Burge Chair in Law and Ethics at Georgia State University, spoke with host Rose Scott about Senate Bill 92 and how it could be used to repeal Willis and several other district attorneys out of office.
