MARIANNA, Fla. (WMBB) – A man who received medical treatment after being hit in the head began to behave “paranoid” and “strange” and eventually threw his wife out of her vehicle at gunpoint and walked with the couple’s two children, Jackson That’s what the county MPs said.
The incident, which occurred Tuesday around 6:40 p.m. on Highway 231 and Kynesville Road, sparked an intense multi-day, multi-agency search for the man and his children. That search ended safely on Thursday when Jonathan Gonzalez was located and arrested in Macon, Georgia.
The children were found with him and were unharmed, added the MPs.

Gonzalez’s wife described his actions as atypical. She told investigators that the family sought help after Gonzalez was hit in the head the night before in Bay County. While on Gonzalez Street, “they became extremely paranoid, being followed by other vehicles and being followed by devices in their car”.
Then he “armed himself with a pistol and aimed it” at his wife and threatened her. As she pulled to the side of the road, Gonzalez got out of the vehicle, went over to the driver’s side, and pulled his wife out of the car at gunpoint.

Then he drove away with the two children and left his wife on the side of the road, said MPs.
State, state and local law enforcement agencies from across the region joined the investigation and search, said Sheriff Donald L. Edenfield.

Gonzalez is now charged with aggravated assault with a gun.
