A: Once something has been filed, you don’t have to worry about the statute of limitations. The statute of limitations is two years for a misdemeanor and four years for a felony, but that shouldn’t be a problem if the lawsuit has already been filed. Unfortunately, sometimes it just takes a long time for things to find their way through the courts.
