Investigative officers from the homeland protection authority maintains the enforcement of immigration in Georgia

Atlanta, GA. (Atlanta News First) – Thousands of immigrants without papers have been recorded in Georgia since January, since the enforcement efforts of immigration are continued according to Homeland Security Investigations Atlanta (HSI).

“We only scratch the surface. The reality is, we have millions of people who are undocumented and illegal in the United States,” said Steven Schrank, special agent from HSI Atlanta.

According to the cabinet, his agency uses various operations to capture people who are illegally in the country. These operations include agents who go on websites with illegally employed and documented immigrants or by mutually acceptable encounters in which agents may go to a company or a neighborhood.

“This could be a situation like a walmart, a home depot or a job or a park in which it is known that certain people can be present,” said Schrank.

On Monday, Atlanta News experienced such an operation near a company in Riverdale for the first time, in which various agencies were seen, how they took people into custody.

The Rep. Eric Bell of the state of Georgia submitted a statement on ice activity in Riverdale on Tuesday and claims that the agents gave no identification or explanation before arriving someone. Bell is now calling for her release and an investigation of the company.

In response, Schrank said that these types of operations can use the tools.

“ICE employee, HSI personnel, FBI, DEA are very often identified with identification. With uniforms, with west who say who they are,” said Schrank. “But there can be situations in which it is least disturbing for people to identify quietly.”

Only in the last month Schrank said that his violent gang unit had made several arrests, including some due to murder. But it is not just the violent persons to the agents, but that everyone who broke the law into the country.

“It is our mandate to enforce the immigration laws when they fit into the books,” he said.
