In Georgia, 2,270 victims of home violence had been recognized within the first quarter of 2021

Police identified 2,270 domestic violence victims and 2,141 perpetrators across Georgia in the first quarter of 2021, reports the Georgian Interior Ministry (MIA).

The MIA reports that of 2,270 victims of violence, 1,875 (83%) were women.

The abusers were 1,818 men and 323 women.

The statistics for the first quarter of 2021 show that 84 percent of the victims of domestic violence were older than 25 years.

Regarding violence against children and adolescents, 5.7% of the victims of violence were under the age of 17 in the first quarter of 2021.

From January to March 2021, Georgian law enforcement agencies issued 2,371 injunctions to protect victims of violence.
