Atlanta, GA. (Atlanta News First) – A bill with the name of a nursing student in Georgia, whose murder became a central focus of the 2024 election on Wednesday.
The Riley Act sheet aims to immigrate by arresting the immigrants who commit certain crimes in connection with theft. The law will dictate that these immigrants are detained until they are removed from the country. The states will also be able to take civil action against members of the federal government that do not enforce the immigration laws.
The congress said goodbye to the Riley Act sheet more than a week ago. Several Democrats, some of whom are exposed to hard return battles such as Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, turn to the Republicans both in the House of Representatives and the Senate to support the bill.
The US representative Mike Collins (R-Georgia) initially introduced the Riley Act sheet. The bill released the house three weeks ago by 264-159; 48 Democrats supported the legislation, as well as the entire GOP -Caucus. All 159 “No” votes were given by Democrats.
On the day of President Trump's inauguration, the Senate passed its own draft law with a vote of 64 to 35, with 12 Democrats participating with the Republicans. Georgia's other Democratic US Senator, Raphael Warnock, voted for the bill.
“Almost a year ago, Riley's life was taken over by an illegal alien from career criminals,” said Collins on Wednesday afternoon. “With the full support of President Trump, a two -time group of Republicans and Democrats and the American people, we were finally able to do justice to the Riley family and make sure that this can never happen again.
“I am grateful outside of President Trump that he made the Riley Act sheet at the first under his presidency and finally concludes the Riley family,” said Collins. “We endeavor to deliver Commonsense solutions to remedy our hood immigration system, and the Riley Act sheet provides it.”
Burt Jones by Georgia Lt., governor Burt Jones, took part in the signing together with Riley's parents and family.
Jose Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant who confirmed, was convicted of Riley's murder in the United States last year.
The 26-year-old Ibarra was found for guilty for murder, crime, crime, severe battery, severe bodily harm, false detention, kidnapping, disability of a 911 call and obscuring the death of another in connection with the death of 22-year-old Riley, a former, Uga student.
The US Ministry of Homeland Protection confirmed that Ibarra was “abolished due to detention capacity in the Central Processing Center in El Paso, TX”, and ICE official said that Ibarra had entered the USA illegally.
The topic of immigration was a major focus on Trump's successful striving to regain the white house.
The democratic employee of the Senate appropriation committee estimates that the law would cost 83 billion US dollars in the next three years, as can be seen from a memo obtained from the associated press. The Riley Act sheet contains no new financing for immigration officers.
