The election official, who defied Donald Trump’s call in January to “find 11,780 votes” to win Georgia, said he was ready to testify against the former president and had handed over documents to prosecutors investigating criminal charges.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said his family had suffered numerous death threats after he turned against Trump. One of these threats, an email in the name of Jesus, warned his wife Tricia to pray because “we plan the deaths of you and your family every day.”

Raffensperger, 66, a lifelong Republican who voted for Trump, is part of a group of Republican officials who defended their state’s 2020 presidential election results against “false claims” of widespread fraud
