Relatives remember the victim as a family man
Jaalisa Heard, sister of Walter Woods.
On April 29th, we spoke to family members of the man who was allegedly killed by Strover.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Walter Woods, was shot dead near 16th Street and Southern in February. The shooting reportedly took place during a fight and Woods was pronounced dead at the scene.
Woods’ family has been waiting for Strover’s extradition for over two weeks.
“To be honest, we’re mad. We’re crazy, disappointed,” said Woods’ sister Jaalisa Heard. “I don’t see how it could happen since he’s a murder suspect. It’s not like he had a small ticket or anything. He took someone’s life.”
Strover is described as a black man, 6’3 “tall, 150 lbs., With visible tattoos on his neck. Strover was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and no shoes. Strover was handcuffed while escaping.
I was hoping the authorities would find Strover soon.
“Walter was a stupid person. He was a family guy. He had three kids, he was a business owner, it just hurts because he didn’t deserve it,” said Heard.
