Former Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker has re-enrolled at the University of Georgia after unsuccessfully attempting to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) last year.
A university spokesman confirmed to The Hill that Walker was enrolled as a student at the school where he played college football in the early 1980s.
The former NFL star initially claimed during his Senate campaign that he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Georgia. However, Walker later admitted that he left university during his junior year to join a professional football league.

Walker’s run for the Senate was also marred by allegations shortly before the election by two women who claimed the anti-abortion candidate encouraged and paid them to have abortions during their relationship. He denied the allegations.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a state watchdog, also in May asked the Federal Elections Commission to investigate his campaign over a payment Walker allegedly requested for his company in 2022. The group alleged Walker and his company — HR Talent LLC — violated federal election law by accepting more than $535,000 in donations, which one donor believed were intended for Walker’s campaign.
The Trump-backed candidate lost by about three points in a runoff to Warnock last December.
