Henry βRedβ G. Wade, 68, of Canton passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Henry was born September 28, 1955 in San Diego, California, to Fred R. and Dorothy A. (Wagner) Wade of Decatur, Georgia. He grew up in Decatur, where he made many lifelong friends. Jeff, Andy, Bob and Larry, he loved each and every one of you and valued your friendship. After high school, Henry joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. He spent time on the USS Okinawa and later served on the USS Dixon before being honorably discharged in 1978. Henry was proud of his service to our country, which resulted in many lifelong friendships. Hoofer, he loved your friendship.
Henry was a very proud father, grandfather, Vietnam veteran and accomplished musician. Henry often spoke about the time he spent with his bandmates in Slick Monkey. He treasured every moment. With Henry’s gift for public speaking and sense of humor, everyone who met him liked him.
Henry is survived by ex-wife Wanda, daughters Jaclyn and Carol, sons-in-law Kevin and Philip, two wonderful granddaughters whom he absolutely adored: Vanessa and Kira, his sister Laura (Vic) and in-laws Jim (JJ). Friendship), Chris (Don), Marge, Bonnie, Steve (Carla), many nieces and nephews. Numerous other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, sister Catherine Ann Wade, mother and father-in-law Carol and Dave, sister-in-law Fawn, brother-in-law Art, niece Tracy and nephews Heath and Darien; and numerous other family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cameron Hall and Northside Hospital-Canton for their care and compassion for Henry. A special big thank you goes out to Jeff and Lindsay, you have always been there for Dad and are still there for us now when he can’t be there. We love you!
Dad, you will be missed very much and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We love you beyond measure.
