David S. Lipscomb of the law firm of David S. Lipscomb and W. Charles “Chuck” Ross of Powell & Edwards, PC, both of Lawrenceville, were re-elected to the board of governors of the 52,000-member Bar of Georgia.

Lipscomb was also re-elected to the State Bar Executive Committee and continued in that capacity for 22 years. The State Bar Board of Governors elect six of its members to the Executive Committee of the organization’s officers. The Executive Committee meets monthly and exercises the powers of the Board of Governors when the Board of Governors is not in session.

Lipscomb will continue to serve on the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the Board of Governors, representing Gwinnett County. He earned his law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1976. He focuses on family law, litigation wills, personal injury and other civil litigation. He is a past president of the Gwinnett County Bar Association.

Ross will continue to work at the Post 3 headquarters on the Gwinnett Circuit. He is a graduate of Ohio Northern University Law School and joined the State Bar in 1996. His law firm focuses on complex technology and data protection litigation, as well as municipal representation, territorial directives, government investigations, and commercial defense. He is a former assistant district attorney for Gwinnett County, past president of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, and past chairman of the state attorney’s technology law division.

The Board of Governors is the State Bar’s 160-strong political decision-making body, represented by all Georgian judiciary circles. The board of directors holds regular meetings at least four times a year.
