ATLANTA – – An immigration lawyer based in Georgia takes steps to expand a legal struggle for revoked student visa, a step that could affect thousands of international students across the country.
Attorney Charles Kuck said that he submitted an application to convert his ongoing case into a class action and possibly added thousands of plaintiffs, the visas of which was revoked by the Trump administration. The case initially focused on 133 international students, including almost 30 from Georgia, who have already joined the suit.
On Friday, a judge in Georgia issued an injunction in favor of Kuck, in which a temporary injunction was expanded to prevent further revocation of the student visa while the legal proceedings are continued.
The lawsuit questions the legality of the Federal Government's decision to revoke student visa and mass, which Kuck has done without proper procedure. The result could have an important impact on international students who are currently in the United States or who want to return.
