KENDALLVILLE – Georgia Kay (Hollies) Truex, 76, of Kendallville and formerly of Alexandria, died March 7, 2021 at Park View Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Georgia was born on July 7, 1944 in Alexandria to George and Nettie (Posey) Hollies. She graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School in 1962. On March 23, 1974, she married the surviving Ralph E. Truex.
Georgia was a retired loan officer at Lampco Federal Credit Union, Anderson.
She was a great cook and always loved cooking for the whole family. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her lovely grandchildren, and she enjoyed her various sea activities.
Her 46-year-old husband, Ralph, is left to carry on her legacy of love. her daughter Lana J. Mabbitt; her brother Sam (Kim) Hollies; her sisters Joyce (Harold) Hill, Brenda (Jeff) Beigh and Doris Fowler. Her grandchildren Michael Mabbitt and Corbin Guenin are also surviving; her great-grandchildren Laken, Matthew, Tristen, Satarha, and Jayzin; and some special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother-in-law Terry Fowler; and niece, Josiphine Hill.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria
A private family service for the burial of the Georgian Cremains will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.
Instead of flowers, memorials for the Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey St., Anderson, IN 46016 or for the funeral home.
Bud and Susan Whetsel are honored to care for Georgia and serve the Truex and Hollies families.
