Georgia Tri-Cities Excessive College Coach Suspended for Detaining Armed Scholar

A Georgia high school coach has been suspended for holding a student with a gun – and he claims the county isn’t doing enough to help his case. In August 2021, Kenneth Miller said he confessed to police when they approached a student at Tri-Cities High School. According to police bodycam footage, the student became aggressive and hit Miller with a staple gun. After the student was arrested, Miller was initially fired, but the district commuted the termination to a suspension. Miller claims he did nothing wrong. “I was just following what the Fulton County School Board dictated,” he said. However, the Fulton County School District said in a statement that it did not support Miller’s actions and that he “did not … professionally meet expectations.”
