Georgia tops 900,000 virus circumstances

June 18 – ATLANTA – Georgia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeded 900,000 this week, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The state has reported 900,368 cases, up from 584 in the past few days and 18,368 virus-related deaths, 61 more than two days earlier, it said.

More than 64,500 hospital admissions have been reported since the pandemic began, the data said. According to GDPH, there have been 10,869 admissions in the intensive care unit since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of antigen-positive cases was 229,715 while there were 2,890 probable deaths, the data said.

Georgia’s vaccinated population is approximately 7.84 million, with more than 75,400 people being vaccinated for every 100,000 people.
