Georgia TJ Maxx faces a $239,000 fine over alleged safety hazards

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued TJX Companies Inc. two repeat subpoenas and one felony subpoena and proposed penalties totaling $239,290 for alleged fire, entrapment and robbery hazards at its Pooler, Ga., TJ Maxx location.

Inspectors said they found blocked exit routes, unstable goods storage and excessive numbers of boxes and other trash in the storage and receiving room, which the Labor Department said could lead to fall hazards.
