The Georgian government has decided to tighten the entry rules for the citizens of 17 countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Yemen, Camerun, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Jyria, Sudan, Sudan, Sudan, Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Ugana.

The state decision to do this was changed on April 17 and will come into force on May 16.

After the change, the citizens of the listed countries are no longer allowed to enter in Georgia if their visa or apartment from goländers, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are valid for less than a year in Georgia.

Georgia sometimes makes it difficult to acquire visas for citizens of certain countries. For example, Syrian citizens, for example, cannot be able to visit Georgia without having a permit from the USA, the EU or the Goländer without an apartment permit.

The Interior Ministry made it clear on Thursday that “the changes serve to tighten the right to visa -free entry into Georgia for the citizens of certain countries and to combat illegal migration”.

The Ministry of the Interior said that the citizens of the listed countries had the right to enter Georgia before the change, even before the changes were made if they had a visa or residence permit from a golfand.

“However, the validity period of the visa was not determined, so the requirements for the countries mentioned were tightened,” the explanation said.

The changes will not influence the citizens of these 17 countries, which have valid visa or residence permits from one of the 50 countries listed by the government, and be able to stay in Georgia for 90 to 180 days each.

As part of the applicable legislation, citizens of 94 countries can occur without a visa in Georgia. According to the law, you have the right to enter and stay in Georgia for a whole year without a visa.

As far as China is concerned, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2023 said that “the citizens of the People's Republic of China will be able to get in without visa in Georgia and to stay in the country's territory for 30 days, exclusively for tourism purposes.

China leaves visa restrictions on Georgian citizens

Georgian citizens will shortly be able to visit China for up to 30 days without a visa, the youngest in a series of diplomatic agreements between the two countries. The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the visa liberalization law at a cabinet meeting on Monday. The Minister of Economics Levan Davitashvili said after the meeting that China would set up the visa -free regime in a few days. Kobakhidze described the step as a “innovative and practical result” of the strategy
