Georgia teen rescued after alleged sex trafficker lured her to hotel – 95.5 WSB

A Hall County teen has been rescued from a suspected west coast sex trafficker who flew to Georgia after luring her on social media.

Panic reigned Saturday morning when the family of a 14-year-old discovered she had disappeared from her Hall County home overnight without warning. According to police, the teenager boarded an Uber that would take her to a man more than twice her age.

“She was homeschooled, she spent time with her siblings, had a good childhood, a good family life … it just wasn’t common for her to walk away like that,” Oakwood Police Sgt. Chris Campbell told WSB radio.

With the help of the girl’s family, investigators pinged the girl’s cell phone on the wireless network of a College Park hotel. The police searched the room and rescued her.

“She’s very happy to be back home,” says Campbell.

A 29-year-old man from California was arrested on charges including sexual assault. More arrests could be made.
