A Georgian election official makes stops at the Coastal Empire a day after the State Election Board concluded its investigation into allegations of voter fraud. The Statesboro Rotary Club had a special visitor on Wednesday. Georgian Foreign Minister Brad Raffensperger attended the group’s meeting. After lunch, he spoke to the crowd about financial education and voter safety programs. “We have all of these programs available, so we go out across the state and talk about it,” Raffensperger said. He will be in Savannah Thursday participating in a financial literacy program for local entrepreneurs. The Minister’s visit follows the Georgia Election Board completing its investigation into allegations of voter fraud in Fulton County during the 2020 election. Both poll workers, who were accused of stealing votes, were found innocent. “We are really grateful,” said Raffensperger. “What we have been saying for several years is that there are fair elections in Georgia. When we looked at this and got a deep dive into Fulton County, we had our investigators look at State Farm and these two poll workers, the GBI, the FBI and even former President Donald Trump, picked a US Attorney to handle the matter to investigate.” As the former president cited allegations against Georgia’s electoral system, the secretary was asked what he thought of his charges. “Well, it’s a process and we let it go through,” said Raffensperger. “Our job is to make sure we hold fair and honest elections for all, we abide by the rule of law and we expect everyone who holds elected office to abide by the rule of law.” Raffensperger is counting on 2024 with a record turnout. He shares how his office is preparing. “We will ensure that the systems are operational. They have their election workers trained and do everything that is required,” said Raffensperger. The presidential primary elections in Georgia will take place on March 13, 2024.
