A Georgia mother who disappeared with her 4-year-old son has been arrested while her son remains missing, according to the State Bureau of Investigation.

Keara Cotton, 27, filed a missing persons report for her son Jayceon Mathis, 4, on Jan. 20, according to GBI. His family told agents it had been months since they last saw Mathis. The child lived with his mother in Vienna.

Because the family filed the complaint, law enforcement could not locate Cotton and filed a missing person’s report for her as well.

Jayceon Mathis, 4, was reported missing on January 20 (GBI).

On Monday, GBI agents located Cotton. She was taken into custody and charged with two counts of cruelty to children, the GBI said.

4-year-old boy Jayceon Mathis is still missing.
