Georgia was born on October 27, 1922 in her family’s home in rural Washington County to Albert and Josepha (Cerny) Janecek. She was married to Ira Lloyd Miksch on March 15, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. Together they farmed, raised a family and made special memories with so many. Georgia used her talents while working at the Captain’s Table and the Washington Country Club. She also wallpapered and painted, saying, “Have brushes, will travel.”

Georgia had many talents such as a love of sewing, crocheting, baking, wedding cake making and is particularly well known for her delicious Kolaches. She enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, camping, gardening and canning — while teaching others to make her favorite family recipes. Every time you came to visit the coffee pot was always on and she always had a deck of cards ready! Music was a special love of hers, especially bohemian polka music. She played accordion, guitar and harmonica. She loved her family and friends most of all. She is loved and missed by many. Georgia really is a special woman.

She is survived by her daughter Connie (Pat) Hough of Venice, Florida; son Allen Miksch and special friend Josetta McNett of Washington, Iowa; grandson, Jeffrey Brinning of Centennial, Colorado; Jami (Geoff) Young of Mechanicsville, Virginia; Louis (Christina) Miksch of Washington, Iowa; Molly (Jason) Johnson of Washington Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Natalie and Ella Young; Jayden, Aubrey and Brody Miksch; and Brittney Johnson.

Her parents precede her in death; husband, Ira Lloyd Miksch; little sons, Glen Lloyd and Larry Allen Miksch; brothers Joe, Frank, Albert, Melo and Louis Janecek; sisters, Mae Robertson and Helen Norris; and daughter-in-law Peggy Miksch.
