Georgia Marie (Sundbeck) Gustafson, 92, of Austin, TX went to the Lord on March 1, 2023. Born on February 22, 1931, on George Washington’s birthday to Swedish immigrants, she was the 10th of 11 siblings, affectionately referred to as “The Little Sister”. Georgia grew up at Sundbeck Dairy Farm, where she milked cows and rode horses bareback. Her whole life was built on her faith, her family and her Swedish heritage. Georgia married Harvey Delmore Gustafson in a double ceremony with her sister Charlotte on August 12, 1949. Together they had 4 children, their pride! The JC Penny Company moved them across the United States from Texas to South Carolina to New Orleans Louisiana. The family eventually settled in their hometown of Austin, TX. She was a business owner, opening Kross Kountry Casuals in the ’70s and moving to Formally Yours, a bridal shop, until her retirement in the ’90s. Georgia will be remembered for her unrelenting tenacity to persevere despite life’s hardships, her non-judgmental kindness and love for others, a warm shoulder to cry on. The world’s greatest grandmother and great grandmother. She was a true matriarch, the rock and foundation of the family. We celebrate her heavenly homecoming, fully healed and in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Preceding Georgia in death are parents Carl and Tina Sundbeck, siblings Lilian Swenson, Wenfield Sundbeck, Marvin Sundbeck, Leonard Sundbeck, Leroy Sundbeck, Margaret Lind, Laverne Hart, Charlotte Hawkinson, husband Harvey Delmore Gustafson, and their infant Terry Dale Gustafson and daughter Georgeann Pettus.
