Stephen Hyles’ hanging has been viewed as suicide, but his close relatives believe there has been a rush for a verdict.
A man was found hanging from a tree in Winston, Georgia, and his family is demanding answers from the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.

Keaton styles, the man’s younger brother, said they were close. When both parents passed away, the two would often “tell each other that we have all we have,” the surviving sibling told Fox 5.
“He was a good person,” said Keaton Styles of Stephen. “A caring person. He was fun.”
The late 43-year-old man went missing in February, but his family was concerned for his welfare after his car was discovered in Winston, about 25 miles west of Atlanta, on about February 20, reportedly not far from his home removed grandparents.

“The windows were broken,” said his brother, and the interior of the vehicle was covered in mud.
Stephen Styles’ body was found hanging from a nearby tree. His wallet and ID were missing.
Keaton Styles said his brother is not suicidal. He told a local news agency, “It appears to be a racist activity.” He asked how local law enforcement agencies could so quickly view death as suicide.

Representatives from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office did not comment and said the case is still under investigation.
The Styles death was among multiple executions of black men in 2020. Two were found hung amid protests against police brutality in California in the summer of 2020. However, it was found that both were suicides.

Robert Fuller was found hanging near Palmdale Town Hall on early June 10, where the 24-year-old’s death sparked protests, and more than 100,000 people signed an online petition calling for an investigation. Weeks later, police announced that they had found evidence that Fuller bought the rope he used to commit suicide.
