Georgia man convicted of pandemic unemployment fraud

By Peter McGuire (November 22, 2023, 2:01 p.m. EST) — A Georgia man has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison for posing as an unemployment claimant to submit fraudulent unemployment claims for benefits worth more at the peak of the year as $200,000 due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a press release from the federal prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.
