Georgia Lee Rouse Grady, 89 years old, passed away early Friday morning November 12, 2021 in the comfortable surroundings of her home.

Your family welcomes friends and neighbors to the Grady residence on Sunday afternoon, November 14th, from 2pm to 4pm, to offer their condolences. The home address is 796 White Flash Road, Mount Olive. A memorial service is held privately. Mrs. Grady, born in Lenoir County and married to Durham Grady at BF Grady High School, became a resident of the White Flash Community near Mount Olive. She was a farmer and an excellent housewife. She trained as a state-certified nurse and worked for many years at the Duplin General Hospital. As a member of Garner’s Chapel Church, she had been a member of the choir for the past several years.

Her surviving family includes a daughter, Pam Grady Brewer of Mount Olive; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Durham Grady, Jr. and Gale Bostic Grady of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Holly Grady Edwards and husband Richard of Clinton, Meghan Brewer Best and husband Will of Mount Olive and John Paul Grady and wife Chelsie of Mount Olive; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey Edwards of Clinton, Lily Best, Presley Best, and Carrie Nell Grady, all from Mount Olive; three brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Lucille Rouse of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Lonnie H. and Nina Rouse of Dudley, and Perry Barwick, Jr. and Bettye Barwick of Carolina Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

Loved ones whom she joins in death are her husband, Paul Durham Grady, Sr.; a son-in-law, Phil Brewer; her father, Edward Earl Rouse; her mother Virginia “Dodger” Hardy Rouse Barwick; and her stepfather Perry Barwick Sr.

The family thanks their team of dedicated caregivers who have always stood by her side and enabled her to stay at home in her home during her long journey. Particularly noteworthy is Mary Booker, who was there for the whole 12 years until recently. They also appreciate Renee, Kendall, Debbie, Colleen, Christina, and all of the others who have graciously provided companionship and care.
