Georgia Health Plan has to pay for proxy’s gender-affirming care

A Georgia sheriff’s deputy can seek payment from her county-provided health insurance plan for gender-affirming surgery while an appeal is pending against her victory in a gender discrimination lawsuit.

The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia refused to set aside an injunction granting Anna Lange the relief she sought in a case alleging that the plan’s exclusion of coverage violated Title VII, which alleviates discrimination on the basis of gender in the terms of employment.
