WEST RUPERT – Georgia H. Bebee, 91, of West Rupert, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 6, 2021.
Our mother was born on December 22, 1929 in Wells, VT. She was the daughter of the late George and Lena (Batease) Hadaway.
She attended school in Rupert / West Rupert. As an adult, she worked at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY before working as a printer for Sherwood Medical in Argyle and retiring in the 1990s after 27 years of service.
She attended the Church of Christ in West Rupert and was a member of the Rupert Leisures. She loved sitting on her porch and watching the traffic. She loved reading novels, going for walks, baking goodies, and hanging out with family and a few close friends. She particularly enjoyed the Rupert Old Home Days celebrations each August and the rides, which hopefully included a lunch break at one of her favorite restaurants.
She died on February 16, 1998 from her 50-year-old husband, Arnold Bebee Sr .; by a special niece, Marcia (2019); our father’s sister, Martha (2021), and of a little brother and four sisters and their spouses. She was particularly close to her sister and brother-in-law: Ruby and Howard Chapman, who died before her in 2019, both in their early 90s.Mum was the youngest in her family and the last of her siblings to die.
