Atlanta, GA – Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has appointed Brian Lake to the Superior Court of the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of the Honorable Mark Anthony Scott.
According to a press release, Lake is currently a partner in Robbins Alloy Belinfante Littlefield LLC. He previously practiced at Freeman, Mathis and Gary, LLP, focusing on commercial and construction litigation. Lake has practiced in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels. Prior to practicing private practice, Lake served as a clerk to the Honorable William T. Moore, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He has also helped victims of domestic violence obtain restraining orders against their attackers through Cobb Legal Aid and the Cobb Justice Foundation.
Lake received his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He was named Best Editor of Notes by the Georgia Law Review in 2013. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia.
Kemp also made two more appointments. Jessica Martin has been appointed Solicitor General of the State Court of Habersham County, filling the position created by the appointment of the Honorable William Oliver to Superior Court of the Mountain Judicial Circuit; and Susan Treadaway will fill the position of District Attorney in the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit created by the appointment of the Honorable Shannon Wallace as Judge of the Superior Court of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit.

Jessica Martin currently serves as a District Attorney for the Mountain Judicial Circuit, writing warrants and prosecutions in civil and criminal cases, primarily for Chief Justice Russell W. Smith, and Justices Chan Caudell and Justices William Oliver. She also performs essential duties that contribute to the overall operation of the court.
Martin previously worked as an Associate Attorney for McClure, Ramsay, Dickerson & Escoe LLP and as a Legal Clerk for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. She earned her JD from the University of Georgia School of Law and a BA in Political Science and Economics from Piedmont College. Martin and her husband have two children.
Susan Treadaway is currently the acting district attorney for the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit. Previously she held the position of Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Blue Ridge Judicial District and before that the same role at the Cobb Judicial Circuit.
Treadaway was previously a member of the Georgia Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force and Deputy District Attorney Chair on the Child Fatality Review Panel. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Canton, where she chairs the community service committee. A 2022 Leadership Cherokee graduate, Treadaway was recognized as a Woman of Achievement at the 37th Annual LiveSafe Tribute to Achievement, honored as a SafePath Honorary Children’s Hero for her work against child abuse, and received the 2023 W. Lee Arrendale Award for Vocational Excellence.
Treadaway earned her JD from Georgia State University and a BBA from Florida State University. She has two children and lives in Canton.
